Bray registered 18 kills and a BIG EAST-best 12 blocks in Marquette sweeps of Villanova and Georgetown. She was the lone competitor this week to rank among the top ten in three separate categories including blocks (1st, 2.00/set), hitting (8th, .400), and kills (10th, 3.00/set).

Hamilton ranked second in hitting (.600) and third in kills (4.17/set) among BIG EAST competitors this week as the Golden Eagles defeated Villanova (W, 3-0) and Georgetown (W, 3-0).

Hamilton led the Golden Eagles with 58 kills in a 2-2 week that included matches against No. 1 Wisconsin (L, 1-3), No. 7 Oregon (L, 0-3), Air Force (W, 3-0) and Milwaukee (W, 3-1). On the week, she ranked third among all BIG EAST competitors in kills per set (4.14).

Beto Soto earns Big East Honor Roll nod

Soto scored two of Marquette's quick goals against UTRGV on Friday night. He kept his offense going against Wisconsin on Monday with an assist, but timing wise, that counts for next week's awards.

Ludwig Malberg named Goalkeeper of the Week

Here's what the league office said about the Swede:

A stalwart in net for the Golden Eagles, Målberg improved to 4-0-0 on the season with a pair of shut out victories over Detroit Mercy (6-0) and Harvard (1-0). In the lopsided victory on Friday, the sophomore goalkeeper came up big on five saves, while facing 11 shots. On Monday, Målberg denied each of Harvard’s scoring opportunities, while corralling two saves. Overall, he has 15 saves in a quartet of games with a 0.882 save percentage, along with three consecutive shut outs.

In addition to that, Noah Madrigal made the Big East Weekly Honor Roll after a pair of goals and an assist against Detroit Mercy.

Brooklyn Merl named Big East Offensive Player of the Week

Here's what the league office said about him:

Leading the offensive attack for Marquette, forward Brooklyn Merl tied for the league-high with six points in a pair of wins for the Golden Eagles. Trailing 2-1 in the season opener against Drake on Thursday, Merl broke through the Bulldogs’ backline off an assist from Mitar Mitrovic to punch in the equalizer in an eventual 3-2 win. On Sunday, the native of Cologne, Germany, stuffed the stat sheet with a goal and a pair of assists to lead Marquette to a 3-0 home win over Purdue Fort-Wayne. Merl opened the game with an assist just two minutes into the second half, before finding the back of the net in the 56th minute, extending the lead to two. Three minutes later, he connected with Mitar Mitrovic for the Golden Eagles’ third goal of the game.

Fresh off the program's first NCAA tournament appearance, the Golden Eagles are headed to Spain next week. The trip will include various sightseeing opportunities and a contest against the Spanish National Team. This will be Marquette's first foreign trip since 2016.

Bobby O'Grady On Big East Weekly Honor Roll

O'Grady posted a game-high six goals for the Golden Eagles against No. 11/10 Denver on Friday evening at Valley Fields. It was the fourth sock trick of O'Grady's career and the second time this season that he's scored six times.
