Bireley & Kropp earn Big East weekly awards
Marquette's Meg Bireley was named Big East Attacker of the Week on Monday. Here's what the league office said: Bireley put together multiple standout performances for Marquette last week, stuffing the stat sheet over two contests. In the Golden Eagles’ resounding 19-7 victory over Detroit Mercy on Wednesday, Bireley tallied a game-high six points, with four goals and two assists, while tying career-highs in ground balls (4) and caused turnovers (3). She then followed that up with a career-high eight points in a close loss to Niagara on Sunday, scoring seven goals and dishing out an assist. Josie Kropp was named Big East Midfielder of the Week. Here's her writeup from the league: Kropp made her impact felt in the circle for Marquette across two games this past week. The junior midfielder tied a program single-game high with 17 draw controls in the Golden Eagles’ 19-7 win at Detroit Mercy on Wednesday. She also posted 15 draw controls in their next matchup against Niagara on Sunday. Kropp is now up to 48 draw controls for the season, the third-most in the nation, while her 8.00 draw controls per game ranks 10th nationally.

Kam Jones named Big East Player of the Week
Because that's what happens when you drop 34 points on two different teams. Here's what the league wrote: Jones produced a pair of 34-point games in a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles. In the two victories, the junior combined to shoot 71.9 percent (23-of-32) from the floor and 70-percent (14-of-20) from 3-point range. Marquette defeated DePaul 107-71 and Xavier 88-64. He is the first BIG EAST player to score 34 or more points in consecutive league games since MU’s Markus Howard in 2019-20.

Kaylee Hopp named Big East Field Athlete Of The Week
Here's what the league office said about Marquette's junior jumper: Hopp claimed second in the triple jump at the Panther Tune-Up with a finishing mark of 12.25 meters. She set a new PR in the event as her distance ranks second all-time in program history. The junior’s mark is currently tied for third in the BIG EAST. The Big East also noted that MU's Julia Beck ran the 9th fastest 60 meter hurdles time in program history.
