Here's what the Big East said about Marquette's Shea Garcia: In a 1-0 week for Marquette, Garcia totaled five points off four goals and one assist in a 12-9 win against then-No. 24 Connecticut. The Golden Eagles’ win over the Huskies is their second top-25 victory in program history and first of this season. The senior attacker currently ranks second in the BIG EAST in goals per game (3.08) and third in total goals (40). And here's what they wrote up about goalie Brynna Nixon: Nixon had a career-high 14 saves in the Golden Eagles win over UConn. The sophomore goalkeeper had a .609 save percentage on 36 shots faced and only allowed nine goals. She also added four ground balls in the win. After last week’s game, Nixon has surpassed the 100-save mark for the season with 112.

The Big East kept it straight and to the point for Bobby O'Grady's honors: "O’Grady posted a game-high four goals in Marquette’s 9-5 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday afternoon. The sophomore scored back-to-back goals late in the second quarter and tallied his final pair to help MU to a 9-3 lead midway through the final frame."
Schumar & Soccodato earn Big East Weekly Honors
Mary Schumar was named Big East Attacker of the Week: "The senior attacker had 11 points off two goals and nine assists, as Marquette went 2-0 last week. Schumar’s two goals and four of her assists came in an 18-5 win at Eastern Michigan along with a one caused turnover and one ground ball. Her remaining five assists came in another road win for the Golden Eagles as they defeated Central Michigan 17-9. Schumar leads the country in both assists (40) and assists per game (4.00)." Emma Soccodato was named Big East Midfielder of the Week: "Soccodato had six goals off eight shots in Marquette’s two wins last week. The senior midfielder had four goals off five shots on goal at Eastern Michigan and scored two goals off two total shots in the win against Central Michigan. Soccodato also added eight ground balls, four caused turnovers and six draw controls in Marquette two games last week."
