We turn to the Marquette press release on the topic, which is always a little more informative than the league’s: Allieri posted a season-high 17 saves and allowed just four goals in nearly 58 minutes against Detroit Mercy to improve to 3-1 on the season. The native of Wellesley, Massachusetts made six saves in the first quarter and posted a shutout through the first 18 minutes of game action. He also held the Titans scoreless in the second half with 10 saves after the intermission.

Marquette defender Mason Woodward was named the Big East's Defensive Player of the Week after his performance against Michigan on Saturday. Here's the league's writeup: "Woodward posted a game-high seven ground balls, caused two turnovers and added an assist in Marquette’s 14-9 victory over Michigan on Saturday in the Southwest Florida Shootout. He entered the weekend second in the country among non-faceoff specialists in ground balls per game and reached his season averages in ground balls (7.0), caused turnovers (2.0) and points (1.0). The assist was his fourth point in as many games this season." In addition, midfielder Griffin Fries was named to the league's Weekly Honor Roll. Here's that writeup: "Fries set new career highs in goals (4) and points (5) in Marquette’s 14-9 victory over Michigan on Saturday. He scored twice in the game’s first nine minutes to help MU out to an early 4-0 lead."

Here's how Marquette's press release on the topic wrote up O'Grady's honor: The attackman continued his hot shooting to start the year with four goals in Wednesday's game at then-No. 2/3 Notre Dame. He extended his career-long goal scoring streak to 18 games and has 15 goals through three contests this season, good for fourth nationally in goals per contests (5.00/game). In total, the sophomore has accounted for 60 career goals (sixth in MU history) with 10 hat tricks and eight games with at least four scores.

Here's the league's writeup on the sophomore attacker for Week 2 of the season: O’Grady continued his torrid pace to start the year with a five-goal, one-assist performance on Saturday at Utah. The sophomore is tied with Bell at the top of the league with 6.5 points per game.

For the first week of the season, attacker Bobby O'Grady was named Attack Player of the Week, attacker Andrew Bowman was named Freshman of the Week, and defender Mason Woodward earned a nod on the Honor Roll. O'Grady's writeup: The reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, O'Grady pushed his career-long goal scoring streak to 16 games with a six-goal, one-assist effort in the season opener against Lindenwood. O'Grady notched his eighth career hat trick in the win and third sock trick of his career. The sophomore now has 51 goals through 16 games and is the eighth player in Marquette history to reach the 50-goal plateau. Bowman's writeup: Bowman registered two goals in his collegiate opener, earning the start in the the midfield. The first-year attacker scored both goals in the first quarter to help Marquette jump out to a 7-1 lead in a 17-2 win over Lindenwood. Woodward's writeup: Woodward led a Marquette defensive unit that limited Lindenwood to just two goals on Saturday. The All-American registered five ground balls and caused a turnover while also scoring his third career goal in the third quarter.
