I like this idea where NCAA teams play spring matches at high schools and other facilities outside of their immediate community.

Offensive Player of the Week went to Yadhira Anchante: Anchante generated a Marquette offense that went 2-0 this week, including a straight sweep of previously undefeated Creighton, to claim a share of the BIG EAST Regular Season title and the No. 1 seed in this week’s BIG EAST Volleyball Championship. The sophomore led all conference competitors in assists, averaging 11.86 per set. In Friday’s 3-1 victory over third-seeded Xavier, Anchante produced a match-high 49 assists alongside six kills, three digs and a service ace. Against Creighton, she totaled 34 assists, 12 digs, four kills and a pair of aces. Defensive Player of the week went to libero Carly Skrabak: This week, Skrabak led the BIG EAST in digs (6.14/set) while contributing to a Marquette defense which conceded just one set to third-seeded Xavier before blanking second-seeded Creighton. Against Xavier, the senior defensive specialist recorded a match-high 31 digs with five assists and two service aces. In Saturday’s showdown against the Bluejays, Skrabak logged 12 digs, two assists and a service ace. Rookie of the Week went to outside hitter Ella Foti: In a 2-0 week, Foti hit .314, good for tenth in the conference, while averaging 3.00 kills per set and logging four service aces. Against Xavier, the redshirt freshman contributed 14 kills, three digs, three blocks and two aces, hitting .423. In Saturday’s sweep of Creighton, she tallied seven kills with a pair of service aces. Aaaaaaand middle blocker Hattie Bray is on the Weekly Honor Roll: In a 2-0 week, Bray totaled 19 kills with six blocks. The redshirt freshman hit .342, good for eighth overall this week, as Marquette claimed the top seed in the 2022 BIG EAST Volleyball tournament.

Carsen Murray Named Big East Offensive Player of the Week

Here's how the MU press release wrote it up, because it's always more detailed than the Big East press release: Murray hit a combined .594 in the two contests with zero hitting errors and averaged 3.17 kills and 0.83 blocks per set. She totaled 19 kills and five blocks over six sets as the Golden Eagles hit .314 as a team on the East Coast. She began her weekend with seven kills and three blocks on .583 hitting in Friday's sweep of the Friars. And followed that up with 12 kills on 20 errorless swings (.600) against the Huskies, along with a pair of blocks and three assists. In addition to Murray's honor, libero Carly Skrabak was named to the Weekly Honor Roll. Here's the MU writeup: Skrabak averaged 5.17 digs per set in the two matches and notched team bests of 19 digs at Providence and 12 digs at UConn. She currently sits fourth in the BIG EAST in digs per set (4.45) and has previously earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week twice this season.
