Marquette (4-3) heads up to Green Bay on Tuesday night to face UW-Green Bay (4-4). The Golden Eagles are coming off of a 2-1 trip to Fort Myers, FL, where the loss came to #3 Penn State and the wins came over Atlantic Sun favorite and host Florida Gulf Coast and Southland favorite Central Arkansas. Outside hitter Lindsey Gosh was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll for her efforts over the weekend, and she ranks second on the team in kills per set at 2.71 behind Autumn Bailey, who ranks second in the Big East at 4.19. Setter Elizabeth Koberstein ranks first in the conference and ninth in the country in assists at 11.59 per set.

As for the Phoenix, they're led by first year head coach Michaela Franklin. Franklin left her spot as assistant coach for the Golden Eagles in the offseason to take the top spot in Green Bay. After dropping her first two matches as head coach, UWGB rallied to win their next four, all of them coming in various early season tournaments. The Phoenix had their win streak snapped over the weekend in something I've never seen before: a doubleheader against the same team. Green Bay took a trip to Cedar Falls, Iowa, and dropped two matches on Saturday to Northern Iowa. If you've been following along, you've already figured out that this will be the home opener for UWGB.

Shannon Hurley is the leader in kills by average at 3.28 per set, but Leah Van Zeeland (3.19 kills/set) has played more matches and totaled more kills on the season. Both Van Zeeland and setter Emily Riese (10.06 assists/set) are active on the back line with 2.00 and 1.87 digs/set respectively, but they're nowhere near as handy as libero Jillian Bauer, who gets to more than five balls per set.
