Carly Skrabak Named Defensive Player of the Week

Here’s what the league wrote about Marquette’s libero: "Skrabak posted 42 digs for an average of 5.25 per set in a 2-0 week as the Golden Eagles knocked off No. 11 Kentucky and Ohio. She tied her Marquette high with 26 digs in the five-set triumph over UK and recorded 16 digs with a service ace in the sweep of the Bobcats. Skrabak’s 26 digs against the Wildcats were a single-match high in the BIG EAST over opening weekend, while her 16 digs against Ohio were the second-most among conference players in a three-set match."

Big East Renews Broadcasting Deal With FloSports

It's not clear from the press release, but I presume that the 2022-23 school year will be the first of the three years in the extension of the agreement between the two parties. As in the past, this covers any events not claimed by the Big East's contract with Fox Sports, so most regular season women's basketball along with soccer, volleyball, and lacrosse in terms of sports that Marquette is involved in.

Marquette Volleyball finalizes four 2022 signings

Three members of the recruiting class are in the Prep Volleyball top 150, led by Ella Holmstrom, a 6'1" outside hitter from Rockford, Illinois, who is the #42 recruit in the class. Natalie Ring, a 6'1" outside hitter from Madison, Wisconsin, was a AVCA high school Second Team All-American this past fall.

Taylor Wolf earns All-American honors

The fifth year grad student was named Honorable Mention All-American by the AVCA at the end of the 2021 women's volleyball season. Here's the MU rundown of what Wolf accomplished in her final year at Marquette: "Wolf led all of NCAA Division I volleyball with eight triple-doubles on the year and was among the BIG EAST's leaders in hitting percentage (ninth, .300), kills (10th, 2.86/set), assists (12th, 5.41/set), service aces (32 total aces), and digs (2.81/set). The graduate student rarely left the court, serving as both a right side hitter and setter in MU's 6-2 offense on her way to BIG EAST Conference Co-Player of the Year honors. She was also a two-time Horizon League Player of the Year during her tenure at Green Bay. "
