Osburn Named Freshman of the Week; Foust on Honor Roll

Here’s what the Big East said about Tess Osburn: " Osburn scored the second-most goals on Marquette in the 26-4 win over Detroit Mercy with four. The freshman attacker also added one assist to total five points in the home victory for the Golden Eagles. Marquette’s 26 goals were a program-record for the most goals scored by the Golden Eagles in a game." And here’s the Marquette press release write up for senior midfielder Lydia Foust’s Honor Roll nod: " Foust earned a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll after helping MU to its highest-scoring performance in program history, as she led all players with five goals in the outing. This was her third weekly honor in just four weeks so far this season."

Shea Garcia was named the Women's Lacrosse Attacker of the Week. Here's the writeup: "The senior attacker earned 10 points last week scoring nine goals along with an assist as the Golden Eagles went 2-0. Garcia had 11 shots on goal as Marquette defeated Youngstown State, 18-11, and Cincinnati, 19-13, on the road. She also added two groundballs, one caused turnover and one draw control against the Penguins." Lydia Foust was named Midfielder of the Week. Here's what the league said about her: "Foust totaled six points off five goals and one assist for the Golden Eagles earning her second consecutive BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week award. Additionally, Foust added one groundball in Marquette’s win over Youngstown State and her assist came in the victory against Cincinnati."

For the first week of the season, Lydia Foust was named Big East Midfielder of the Week, and Shea Garcia was named to the Honor Roll. Foust's writeup: Foust tied a Marquette program-record for goals in a game over the weekend as she scored seven in the Golden Eagles’ season opener. The senior midfielder also added one assist and two ground balls in Marquette’s 20-13 win over San Diego State.
